however, sometimes children can not understand parents sacrifices. some children take them for granted, because they have been used to these sacrifices from childhood. sense of self centeredness gradually develops into selfishness. some disagree with parents but are unable to persuade them. chances given, these children prefer to do elementary household chores (家務活) like tidying bedrooms, sweeping the floor and washing dishes.
in my personal judgement, parents should not completely sacrifice themselves to childrens academic interest and welfare. it is unwise for them to pin(寄托，寄寓) all epectations and hopes on their children while neglecting themselves. various sacrifices in monetary(金錢的), material and spiritual terms may change into pressure on children rather than motivation for more satisfactory results.

There are many different aspects between high school and university. Firstly, I think independence is an ability for oneself in the university, but it is not in the high school. You must do everything by yourself. Secondly,we will have a lot of spare time,and we can do many things in this time. For example,we can read in our school library,we can play basketball or football in the stadium, we can have a rest in your dormitory and so on. Thirdly, you will have many activities and you can participate in it. At the same time,you have many chances to exercise your ability,study how can we do it better and promote our team spirit. Therefore, the superstitious people will try their best not to choose telephone numbers or car plate numbers or door numbers which are contain with 4. And the people usually will not have their wedding on 4th. People believe those numbers have magic power, which can bring them good luck or bad luck.

In my humble opinion, I do not think these so-called lucky numbers can bring people good luck. Number stand for nothing but quantity. They are only some arbitrary symbols used for communication. Our ancestors created numbers for counting, not for luck. People believe number 8 can bring good fortune is only because the pronunciation of eight has almost the same sound of “fa cai” in Cantonese. The ironic part is the people who choose the number on purpose do not always make big money, while the people whose telephone numbers or car plate numbers contain 4 do not kick their buckets. Shakespeare said, “If we call a rose by any other name, it would smell sweet as well.” This means there is no connection between sound and meaning. So it’s no good to believe that number has something to do with the luck.

And there can be more such examples.
In view of the expanding population and the shortage of various resources, wasting is really a harmful habit. It put strains on the already short supply of food, water, electricity and the like. Besides, it goes against traditional virtue of hard work and simple living and may leads to a luxurious life style, which is dangerous to the souls of mankind.
Therefore, it is high time that we take steps to stop wasting.
