Sharing bike can be seen in every corner of the street, which is very popular by the public. The foreigners speak highly of sharing bike, because they can ride the bikes to look around the city and the expense is very cheap. As people enjoy the convenience of these bikes, the problem comes. We can see that many bikes have been broken and some are even put in the main road, which brings trouble to the public. Of course when the media reported the phenomenon, everybody condemned the negative behavior. Sharing bikes are public property, all the people have the responsibility to protect them, so after using them, we should just find a right place to lock them. The small act can present a person’s nature, so don’t let yourself be the rude one.

Will Christmas Replace the Spring Festival
Christmas arouses increasing attention year by year in China. Christmas cards become popular with students. People hold Christmas parties and exchange Christmas girts. A lot or TV and radio programs about Christmas are on. Meanwhile the Spring Festival is leappealing (有吸引力的)to youngsters. Thus some people wonder whether Christmas will replace the Spring Festival.
This worry is fairly unnecessary. Why ? One reason lies that Christmas only affects Christians, college students and joint-venture (合資企業(yè))workers. Another reason is that Christmas is mostly celebrated in cities. Few people in countryside show extreme interest in this exotic(帶有異國(guó)情調(diào)的) festival. By contrast, the Spring Festival is the most influential traditional festival in every family.
I think,it is natural that with increasing exchanges with the West,a lot of Western holidays have been gradually introduced into China. For us Chinese we should never neglect or even discard our own traditional festivals. For centuries Chinese have observed this traditional holiday to welcome the beginning of a new year. And we will treasure the Spring Festival forever.
"Long, long ago, there was an island in the distant sea, where lived a fairy who was said be able to make a child lovely and bright. One day, ..." As the story went on, MumPs voice grew fainter and fainter, when she gently looked down at me.Then a melodious song came into my ear as if music made by the angels flying in the faraway sky. Gradually, Mom's smile dimmed, and her glittering eyes were just like the brightest stars on the dark blue curtain of night...
Countless nights had passed in this way during my infancy. In my naive heart, Mother's voice was deeper and softer than the nightingale. Even now I still remember quite clearly that cradlesong she used to sing before I fell asleep. Those old melodies still sound so good to me, as they melt the years away.To me, Mother's companionship was the most important thing in my childhood.
Mother is an incurable romantic, passionately in love with life and with the mystery of the universe. She taught me to open up all the channels of my senses to touch and feel what lies all a round me, and discovered with me the beauty of nature, the joy, excitement and mystery of the new and the unknown. She is quite at home in literature because of her active and imaginative mind. Every new experience, every new discovery concerning the world could delight her.
I went off to college, but Mum is still always in my memory. I could hear her voice every time I fell short in anything. From breast to cradle to reassuring hug, Mum has shared all the happiness and depression of mine. However, she never expressed herself. Upon my entry into university, when she and Father were going back home, she hurriedly turned back to run along, even without a look at me. I knew she dared not, for fear that tears should fall down in my presence. This separation would last nearly five months during which she could not see me. She was just trying to stop me from seeing her crying. I was refraining myself, too, because the long time living with her had made me an exact person like her. Later, Father told me she kept wiping her eyes on the bus to the railway station. I knew that, because I love you, Mum, and you already knew that too.
使用都貼切傳神,所謂“the right word at the right time”。作者的閱讀面也很寬,“Those old melodies still sound sogood to me,as theymelt the yearsaway.”
in my daily life, i always want things to be done quickly, however, the results tend to turn out just the opposite of what i wish. as the saying goes more haste, less speed, baste never helps, instead it makes waste.
once i was in a hurry trying to catch the train to shanghai. i packed up and put all the things i would need into a suitcase and locked it. then i took a tai and boarded the train on time. when i arrived in shanghai and was comfortably settled in a hotel, i tried to open my suitcase. to my great disappointment, i found i did not have the key with me. i had left it at home without my knowing it.
another time i was trying to fill a bettie with hot water to warm my feet before going to bed. in a hurry, i took the bottle full of cold water and poured it out. while i was pouring and cnjoying the sound the liquid made while coming out of the bottle, my brother shouted at me, hey, you are pouring out my liqor!
from my own eperinece, i draw a painful lesson haste makes waste.

the provision of safe water necessitates one of the rnajor ependitures of manpower and revenue in our modern cities. the purification of water is basically a two-step or three-step process carried out under the strict supervision of public health scientists and engineers. as the first step, natural water from the least contaminated source is allowed to stand in large reservoirs, where most of the mud, clay, and silt settle out; this is called "sedimentation". often in water with high mud content, lime and aluminum sulfate are added to the water in the settling reservoirs. these chemicals react in the water to form aluminum hydroide, which settles slowly and carries much of the suspended material, including most of carries much of the suspended material, including most of the bacteria, to the bottom of the reservoirs. as the second step, the water is filtered through beds of sand and grovel, which remove other impurities and chemicals in it. during or after filtration, chemicals are ordinarily added to the water to kill any remaining harmful bacteria. chlorine is one of the most common chemicals used for this purpose. a third step taken by some rmnicipalities is adding to the water other beneficial chemicals such as fluoride to make tooth enamel hard, and soda ash to make the water itself soft. the water purification process, carried out with little variation from one large city to another, is perhaps the biggest factor in the prevention of major outbreaks of disease in this country.

as students, we always have a lot of eams/tests every term. tests are used nowadays to check/eamine/measure how well /effectively students study. eams are a very useful and important educational tool of measurement.
however, eams have some side effects of their own. first, some eams can’t reflect the real progress students make. second, too difficult or too many eams force students to cheat in eams. too many eams force students to study for the sake of eams only, to name just a few.
in my opinion, advantages of eams far outweigh their disadvantages. despite their side effects, eams can on the whole check and show how well students study scientifically and accurately. at least so far there has been not any method that take their place in education. besides, eams seem to be fair to all students as they are objective and everyone is equal before test results.
to conclude, eams may continue to eist in our education for a long time before they are replaced by some better measurement methods.

some people think when we read we should read selectively. that is to say, we should select some books we are interested in and ignore the others. reading selectively can help us concentrate our limited time and attention on those selected books.
others think we should read etensively. no matter what kind of book it is, we should look it over. we should read various kinds of books, whether we are interested in them or not. they maintain that reading etensively can help to enlarge our view and grasp the general knowledge in different fields.
in my opinion, the two reading ways have their roles respectively in our reading. however, the disadvantages of each methods are easy to see. if we only read the books we select or prefer, the framework of our knowledge may not be complete. our knowledge would be rather limited. and if we read without selection, we may not have so much time and energy to be specialized in one particular field. therefore, the combination of the two methods is more reasonable.
The Best Kind of Love
i have a friend who is falling in love. she honestly claims the sky is bluer. mozart moves her to tears. she has lost 15 pounds and looks like a cover girl.
im young again! she shouts euberantly.
as my friend raves on about her new love, ive taken a good look at my old one. my husband of almost 20 years, scott, has gained 15 pounds. once a marathon runner, he now runs only down hospital halls. his hairline is receding and his body shows the signs of long working hours and too many candy bars. yet he can still give me a certain look across a restaurant table and i want to ask for the check and head home.
when my friend asked me what will make this love last? i ran through all the obvious reasons: commitment, shared interests, unselfishness, physical attraction, communication. yet theres more. we still have fun. spontaneous good times. yesterday, after slipping the rubber band off the rolled up newspaper, scott flipped it playfully at me: this led to an all-out war. last saturday at the grocery, we split the list and raced each other to see who could make it to the checkout first. even washing dishes can be a blast. we enjoy simply being together.
and there are surprises. one time i came home to find a note on the front door that led me to another note, then another, until i reached the walk-in closet. i opened the door to find scott holding a pot of gold (my cooking kettle) and the treasure of a gift package. sometimes i leave him notes on the mirror and little presents under his pillow.
there is understanding. i understand why he must play basketball with the guys. and he understands why, once a year, i must get away from the house, the kids—and even him-to meet my sisters for a few days of nonstop talking and laughing.
there is sharing. not only do we share household worries and parental burdens—we also share ideas. scott came home from a convention last month and presented me with a thick historical novel. though he prefers thrillers and science fiction, he had read the novel on the plane. he touched my heart when he eplained it was because he wanted to be able to echange ideas about the book after id read it.
there is forgiveness. when im embarrassingly loud and crazy at parties, scott forgives me. when he confessed losing some of our savings in the stock market, i gave him a hug and said, its okay. its only money.
there is sensitivity. last week he walked through the door with that look that tells me its been a tough day. after he spent some time with the kids, i asked him what happened. he told me about a 60-year-old woman whod had a stroke. he wept as he recalled the womans husband standing beside her bed, caressing her hand. how was he going to tell this husband of 40 years that his wife would probably never recover? i shed a few tears myself. because of the medical crisis. because there were still people who have been married 40 years. because my husband is still moved and concerned after years of hospital rooms and dying patients.
there is faith. last tuesday a friend came over and confessed her fear that her husband is losing his courageous battle with cancer. on wednesday i went to lunch with a friend who is struggling to reshape her life after divorce. on thursday a neighbor called to talk about the frightening effects of alzheimers disease on her father-in-laws personality. on friday a childhood friend called long-distance to tell me her father had died. i hung up the phone and thought, this is too much heartache for one week. through my tears, as i went out to run some errands, i noticed the boisterous orange blossoms of the gladiolus outside my window. i heard the delighted laughter of my son and his friend as they played. i caught sight of a wedding party emerging from a neighbors house. the bride, dressed in satin and lace, tossed her bouquet to her cheering friends. that night, i told my husband about these events. we helped each other acknowledge the cycles of life and that the joys counter the sorrows. it was enough to keep us going.
finally, there is knowing. i know scott will throw his laundry just shy of the hamper every night; hell be late to most appointments and eat the last chocolate in the bo. he knows that i sleep with a pillow over my head; ill lock us out of the house at a regular basis, and i will also eat the last chocolate.
i guess our love lasts because it is comfortable. no, the sky is not bluer: its just a familiar hue. we dont feel particularly young: weve eperienced too much that has contributed to our growth and wisdom, taking its toll on our bodies, and created our memories.
i hope weve got what it takes to make our love last. as a bride, i had scotts wedding band engraved with robert brownings line grow old along with me! were following those instructions.
if anything is real, the heart will make it plain.

Everybody agreed to his magnificent plan, and so they got to work. FirstMaze went to get a very long string, and gave it to two people that were verygood at strength to pull it, instead of pulling it let us make it that Maze’splan was not at length that good, for the octopus knew all about his plan; andso could very easily pass the test…

The octopus did return, and it was all to his mom the scientist. Maze diddefeat him again and again; until the octopus was tired, he knew that he was notthe guy to beat Maze, so he changed his mind and left the city and gave lived toMaze’s fans in peace.
The end…

love means that i care about the welfare of the person i love to the etent that it is genuine, my caring is not a smothering of the person or a possessive clinging. i’m concerned about his growth and i hope he will become all that he can become, and never put up roadblocks to what he does that enhances him as a person.
love means having respect for the dignity of the person i love. see him as a separate person, with his own values and thoughts and feelings, and i don’t insist that he surrender his identity and conform to an image of what i epect him to be for me .i can allow and encourage him to stand alone and to be who he is, and i avoid treating him as an object or using him primarily to gratify my own needs.
in short, in love two beings become one and yet remain twowhat is love?
there are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real!
when the door of happiness closes, another opens,
but often times we look so long at the closed door
that we dont see the one which has been opened for us.
dont go for looks; they can deceive.
dont go for wealth; even that fades away.
go for someone who makes you smile because it takes
only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.
find the one that makes your heart smile.
dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go;
be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
may you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.
the happiest of people dont necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear.
the brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you cant go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
when you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
live your life so that when you die, youre the one who is smiling and everyone around

The elderly and the young are two indispensable parts in society, and we should treat them kindly. On the one hand, the elderly should be respected by all though the society. We should always bear in mind that what we have and enjoy now was created by the aged people in the early days, as the old Chinese saying goes, “One generation plants tress under whose shade another generation rests”. Those people who consider the elderly useless can't deny that they are hound to become old some day; therefore, any kind of maltreatment of old people should be prohibited.
On the other hand, all of us should take good care of the young, too. It is children who make us see the future of our state, for they are the future builders of oar country. Therefore, we should take care of them and protect them from being hurt. But it doesn't mean that we can spoil them. Spoilt children are well seen nowadays. They depend on their parents so much that they can do nothing without them. How can we count on those children to make contributions to our society? We should take good care of the young so that they will be useful in the social construction later.
It is a Chinese tradition to respect, love and support the elderly and to protect, educate and take good care of the young. Let's keep and develop that virtue together, because only in this way can we feel as if we were living in a big and happy family, then our society will develop harmoniously.

Yuki midorikawa is one of my favorite Japanese cartoonists. Most of her works are short stories, ingeniously designed, and animation is filled with a touch of sadness. So she has many fans.
Through her works, my favorite one is Xiamuyourenzhang.
The comic book mainly talks about that the hero Xiamuguizhi has a special ability to see the bogies. He is unsociable because his parents are dead. And he often lives in his relatives' home when he is a little boy and his friends at his age always tease him because he has a special ability. Although he experiences many unfortunate things, he is still very kind and without complaint at anyone. Eventually he is adopted by a couple who is very friendly and let him go to high school. One day, He is pursued by a bogie and hid in a shrine. He breaks a powerful bogie‘s seal whose name is Ban. And that involves her grandmother Xiamulingzi’s relics--a contract that sigh with the bogies. Since then, this powerful bogie turns itself into a cat in daily life to stay with Xiamu to protect him with the condition that Xiamu should give the contract to it after he die. But before that Xiamu decides to try his best to give the name in the contracts to the bogies and let them get free. Thus, a loving, touching, scary story is opened up.
In addition, yuki midorikawa has another special work called Yinghuozhisen is also really moving ,sad and beautiful. I suggest that you all can watch it when you have free time.

The picture above vividly depicts a scene of a boy who dresses up as Monkey King talking with his father. What impresses us most is the simple but thought-provoking dialogue between them.
The boy says to his father in low spirits, “Dad, many of my classmates don't think it is fun to learn to act in traditional Chinese dramas.”
“You like it, don't you? That's what matters.” his father responds encouragingly.
“你喜歡,不是嗎?這才是最重要的!八母赣H鼓勵(lì)地回答。
Obviously, what the picture intends to express is that we are supposed to realize our uniqueness and stick to what we are interested in instead of caring too much about what other people think. No one can deny the fact that paying too much attention to others’ opinions often makes us tortured by confusion, disorientation, self-doubt and emotional insecurity. In sharp contrast, if we realize that everyone was born to be unique, we are more likely to accept ourselves as we are and be confident about ourselves and our interests no matter what others say to us, which is definitely conducive to our growth and success.
Given what we have discussed above, we can safely come to a conclusion that we should build up confidence and hold fast to our interests when they are different from those of others. Otherwise, we are prone to get lost when we worry too much about others’ opinions.
Sometimes, when i sat with my dorm mates, chatting with them, one of the most easperating topics is that although we regard chinese as a very intelligent nation, among those geniuses who solved the worlds most difficult and confusing mathematical problems are french people, germans, british people, japanese, but no chinese. it is true that chinese students often come first in the international mathematics competition. but among those young masters, how many will go on developing their talents? very few. in fact, some of them only use this kind of competition as a stepping stone, which could make their way to top universities easier. and they will never want to touch a single mathematical figure again after their goal is achieved.most of them seem to have reached their peeks in high school and before they could practically contribute to the world of mathematics.
Among the seventy years history of the fieldz prize, the only winner born in china is chou tongcheng, who is now a professor in harvard university. once after chou interviewed a candidate for a post in one of the most prestigious universities in china, he was astonished, if a student behaves like this, i would not even give him a masters degree. its not that i am pessimistic, the problems really eist.
Why should the reality be like this? i think the answer is rooted in our education system. after 12 years education in china, the students are familiar with all kinds of question types likely to appear in the eamination and mastered corresponding methods to answer these questions. thats why almost all prizes of those competitions are taken by chinese. but where the chinese education fails is how to empower the students with the ability to find proper problem solving methods by themselves.those young masters spend most of their time doing vast quantities of eercises with their development of creative abilities neglected. they work like a computer with a pre installed program.they perform very well on the problems they have been programmed for. but if they meet something new, they just break down.
If we want to make our country a powerful nation, measures have to be taken to make our students more creative. the education system should be less pragmatic and more innovative, students should be developed individually rather than be molded into the same shape. and many good practices in western culture should be introduced. there is really a long way for us to go.the most urgent thing is, to start to reform immediately.
