1.Many said that unemployment， while extremely painful， had improved them in some ways； they had become less materialistic and more financially [w]prudent[/w]； they were more aware of the struggles of others. （2012. 閱讀。 Text 4）

【析句】主句Many said，重點(diǎn)在that賓語從句上，即說話的內(nèi)容。從句共有三個(gè)分句，第一句unemployment had improved them in some ways，while extremely painful作讓步狀語從句，省略了it is；第二、三句都為簡(jiǎn)單句。
2.In The Moral Consequences of Economic Growth， the economic historian Benjamin Friedman argues that both inside and outside the U.S.， lengthy periods of economic stagnation or decline have almost always left society more mean-spirited and less inclusive， and have usually stopped or reversed the advance of rights and freedoms. （2012. 閱讀。 Text 4）
【譯文】經(jīng)濟(jì)歷史學(xué)家Benjamin Friedman在《經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)的道德結(jié)果》一書中，他認(rèn)為不管美國(guó)還是其它國(guó)家，長(zhǎng)期經(jīng)濟(jì)滯后或下跌總是使得社會(huì)人民更加小心眼，不能全面看問題，經(jīng)常使得人權(quán)和自由的停滯不前或者倒退。
【析句】多重復(fù)合句，主句the economic historian argues…與上例相似，重點(diǎn)都在that賓語從句上。從句主干為lenthy periods of economic stagnation or decline have left society more mean-spririted and less……，and have stopped or reversed……，有多個(gè)and、or等連詞，連接形容詞或動(dòng)詞，非從句，因此無較大難度。
3.The research of Till Von Wachter， the economist in Columbia University， suggests that not all people graduating into a recession see their life chances dimmed： those with degrees from elite universities catch up fairly quickly to where they otherwise would have been if they had graduated in better times； it is the masses beneath them that are left behind. （2012. 閱讀。 Text 4）
【譯文】哥倫比亞大學(xué)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)家Till Von Wachter的研究表示，不是所有人一畢業(yè)就進(jìn)入蕭條，就看到自己的人生機(jī)會(huì)渺茫：從精英大學(xué)畢業(yè)的人會(huì)快速趕上他本該擁有的職位；落后的人不是別人正是他們底下的普通大眾。
【析句】主句The research of Till suggests為簡(jiǎn)單句，例句3的重點(diǎn)同在that賓語從句中。從句主句為not all people see their life chances dimmed，修飾people的graduating into a recession是動(dòng)名詞作定語，相當(dāng)于who graduate.冒號(hào)后對(duì)前句進(jìn)行進(jìn)一步解釋說明，有兩個(gè)分句。前句主干為those catch up to where they would have been if they had graduated in better times，if引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句，而where引導(dǎo)賓語從句從屬于主句；后句為簡(jiǎn)單句。
