Why do We Attend University?

Considering why we should attend universities, different people may have different

ideas. Some students want to go to college for the construction of our country. Other

students believe they are bound to find a better job with college education. Meanwhile,

there are also some students who are forced to attend university by their parents.

Actually, life in the colleges and jobs we can find after graduate are usually quite to

our disappointment. Especially under the severe competition of today's society, it is not

very easy for a college graduate to find a satisfying job. So far as I am concerned,

universities can provide good study opportunities and essential facilities. As a student,

We should take full advantage of these things to have enough preparation for our future.

I believe this should be the main reason why we go to college.

Though our reasons for going to college differ from each other, I think the most

important thing is to cherish this good study opportunity, never wasting the time.

2．金錢(qián)能買(mǎi)到幸福嗎？

Can Money Buy Happiness?

Nowadays, a lot of people in the society think the more money they have, the

more happiness they will obtain. As a result, they will try their best to get money, even

without considering the law.

But in my view, the greatest happiness lies in one's satisfaction with his

surroundings. So long as we have a happy heart to face everything, we can be happy. It

has nothing to do with the amount of money we have. As we can see in the real society,

there are far too many rich people, but lots of them can not enjoy the real happiness.

However, many poor families are leading a satisfying life.

Therefore, people shouldn't pay too much attention to the money. On the contrary,

what they should do is to put their money to the right use. Above all, they should try to

have an optimistic mind to make them happy all the time.

3. 誠(chéng)實(shí)過(guò)時(shí)了嗎？

大多數(shù)中國(guó)人對(duì)于“狼來(lái)了”的故事都十分熟悉。我們從小便被告之要誠(chéng)實(shí)待人。

然而，在我們成長(zhǎng)的過(guò)程中，我們發(fā)現(xiàn)要想做到永遠(yuǎn)誠(chéng)實(shí)實(shí)在是非常困難。有時(shí)，我們

被迫去撒謊。還有些時(shí)候，我們發(fā)現(xiàn)不誠(chéng)實(shí)的人得到了利益而誠(chéng)實(shí)的人得到的卻是失敗。而且

Is Honesty Going out of Style?

To most Chinese people, we are quite familiar with the story of three Cries for

Wolves? We have been taught to be honest when we are very young.

However, as we grow up, we find that it is difficult to be honest all the time.

Sometimes, we are forced to tell lies. Other times, we find people who are dishonest can

enjoy great pleasure while honest people have to suffer failures. And still there are times

when we have to tell lies in order not to hurt others. Consequently, people are wondering

whether honesty is going out of style.

As far as I am concerned, honesty should always be an important character

valued by our Chinese. We should try our best to avoid telling lies (even white lies).

Only by this, is a clean society awaiting us.

4. 論娛樂(lè)

如果我們不參加各種娛樂(lè)活動(dòng)的話(huà)，要保持身體健康是不可能的。一個(gè)不會(huì)娛樂(lè)的人必定不會(huì)很好地工作。

工作之余，我們可以參加各種各樣的活動(dòng)。許多人喜歡工作、工作再工作，因?yàn)樗麄冋J(rèn)為工作是最重要的事。但是這樣的話(huà)，在辦公室里坐的時(shí)間過(guò)久，我們的眼睛和大腦都很容易疲勞，即使聽(tīng)音樂(lè)、看電視或者看電影也無(wú)濟(jì)于事。因此我認(rèn)為最好多參加戶(hù)外活動(dòng)，以使我們的肌肉得到鍛煉。比如說(shuō)：打籃球、踢足球、打乒乓球、游泳、跑步等等都不失為好主意，甚至去野餐也可以。

On Recreation

It is impossible for us to keep fit unless we often take part in activities of recreation. One can not work well if he can not get an active recreation.

There are various kinds of games in our daily life after work. Many people like working and working, because in their mind working is the most important thing. But we usually sit too long in our office, and it is easy for our eyes and brain to get tired even when listening to music, watching TV or going to the cinema. So I think we had better have more outdoor activities to supply our muscles with exercise. 我們?cè)S多人腦海里仍然保留著這個(gè)美好的記憶:童年時(shí)的春節(jié)是在鞭炮閃閃的火花和轟隆隆的爆炸聲中度過(guò)的。

My Views on the Control on Firecrackers(鞭炮)

Most of us may still hold a happy memory in our minds. When we were young, the Spring Festival was celebrated with the company of the flaming sparks and the loud explosions of firecrackers.

But because of the numerous disasters caused by them, governments in some big cities have made very severe control on the firecrackers in the downtown areas. Some people are sad about this decision. They argue that they will lose the flavor of some traditional festivals. Regardless of the fires and the damages on human bodies caused by firecrackers, they only focus on the pleasure firecrackers can bring about.

With the development of the modern society, more and more changes will take place in our lives. Some of the changes may be great challenges against the traditions. Yet we should support the government's policy under the consideration of the whole society. What's more, we should take some more civilized way to celebrate holidays upon stepping into the new century.

6. 課外上網(wǎng)的利弊

隨著電腦技術(shù)的發(fā)展，互聯(lián)網(wǎng)已經(jīng)越來(lái)越受到大家的歡迎。

對(duì)于學(xué)生是否應(yīng)該在課外時(shí)間上網(wǎng)，大家意見(jiàn)各異。一些學(xué)生認(rèn)為使用互聯(lián)網(wǎng)有益處。主要原因有以下幾點(diǎn)：第一，互聯(lián)網(wǎng)上信息資源豐富，因此你不必花費(fèi)大量的時(shí)間在圖書(shū)館就可以搜索到你所需要的信息。而且，使用互聯(lián)網(wǎng)和其他人交往也很方便。

我建議我們應(yīng)該回收這些書(shū)。一方面，回收這些書(shū)可以節(jié)約很多自然資源，這些資源可以被用來(lái)制作新的課本。另一方面，高中生很可能在書(shū)頁(yè)上做了很多筆記，這些筆記對(duì)后來(lái)的使用者會(huì)很有幫助的。

目前，我們都在號(hào)召建立節(jié)約型社會(huì)。我認(rèn)為這對(duì)我們國(guó)家的長(zhǎng)遠(yuǎn)利益具有相當(dāng)?shù)囊饬x。事實(shí)上，在澳大利亞和其它一些國(guó)家，回收課本已經(jīng)很流行了，這給我們樹(shù)立了一個(gè)很好的榜樣。

最近，我們班就這幾年持續(xù)火爆的“超級(jí)女聲”現(xiàn)象進(jìn)行了一場(chǎng)討論。對(duì)此現(xiàn)象同學(xué)們持有不同觀點(diǎn)。

62%的同學(xué)支持這個(gè)觀點(diǎn)。他們認(rèn)為這可以為有歌唱才華的女孩子提供展示自我的機(jī)會(huì)；還有，借此也可以讓新歌手得到鍛煉和培養(yǎng)，促進(jìn)音樂(lè)的發(fā)展；而且，還可以增強(qiáng)她們的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)意識(shí)。

然而，38% 的同學(xué)對(duì)此觀點(diǎn)持反對(duì)態(tài)度。他們認(rèn)為許多學(xué)生因比賽而花費(fèi)大量時(shí)間和精力，一些學(xué)生甚至產(chǎn)生一夜成名的想法，不集中精力學(xué)習(xí)；更糟糕的是，這還誤導(dǎo)某些學(xué)生盲目崇拜偶像。
