　　MirrorHave you ever Wondered how you can see yourself in a mirror?Most mirrors are glass,and they have smooth surface that can reflect,or give back light.When light strikes a mirror in a certain pattern,the light is reflected back in the same pattern.So when you stand in front of a mirror,your image is reflected back for you to see.Long ago,people used polished brass,silver and gold to see their reflection.But for almost four hundred years,people have made mirrors from plate glass.The front of the glass is polished.The back is painted with a substance that reflects light.The glass is then cut into many sizes to be used as mirrors.A flat mirror reflects a correct image.If the mirror is wavy or curved,the image will look odd.This is why people look so funny in the wavy mirrors used in carnivals.
