MoreOver,the smallest unforeseeh event like a power-cut, an exceptionally heavy snowfall or rainfall can bring about conditions of utter inconvenience and chaos.

　　City-dwellers are obliged by their environment to adopt a wholly unnatural way of life. They lose touch with nature and all the simple, good things of life like sunshine and fresh air at a premium. Tall buildings block out the sun. Traffic fumes pollute the atmosphere,The flow of traffic goes on unceasingly and the noise-never stops.

　　The funny thing about it all in a large modern city is,that you pay dearly for tht "privilege" of living.The demand for accommodation is so great that it is often impossible for ordinary people to buy a house/flat of their own. Furthermore,the cost of living is very high. Just about everything you buy is likely to be more expensive than it would be in the country.

　　In addition, city-dwellers live under constant threat.The crime rate in most cities is very high. Houses are often burgled.Cities breed crime and violence and are full of places you would be afraid to visit at night. If you think about it, they are not really fit to live in at all. Can anyone really doubt that the country is what man was born for and where he truly belongs?

However, some others consider all the diploma and certificates important standards by which a persons ability can be measured. They spare no effort to get the certificates for the sole purpose of proving that they are qualified in a certain field. Moreover, there are those who just want to enrich their life by preparing for the certificates because they really enjoy their progress.

　　From my point of view, we should be more rational when it comes to certificates, since certificates do not necessarily prove ones ability. Being crazy in getting certifications blindly is nothing but wasting time. To conclude, we should focus on improving our ability but not merely getting a certificate.

　　第一天，我教爺爺Good morning(早上好)，Good afterroon(下午好)，good night(晚安)，thanks(謝謝)等英語單詞，開始，爺爺總是讀不準(zhǔn)音，特別是晚安，我一連教了三遍，爺爺都沒有學(xué)會，氣得我忍不住脫口罵了句：“您怎么這樣笨啊�！睜敔斠膊缓靡馑嫉卮瓜骂^，像孩子似的`羞紅了臉。后來，我急中生智，在每一個英語單詞旁邊，用中文注上怎么讀音，比如good night旁寫上戈納特。果然，這個辦法好，爺爺讀得準(zhǔn)確了。

　　第二天，我又教爺爺學(xué)了apple（蘋果）、banana（香蕉）、noodles（面條）、wonton（餛飩）等，別說，爺爺雖然已過花甲之年，但學(xué)起來有板有眼，極其認真。對英語單詞的書寫也很規(guī)范，一筆一劃都寫得工工整整，清清爽爽。

　　第三天，我又教了爺爺Spring Festival（春節(jié)）、Qingming（清明）、Mid-Autumn Festival（中秋節(jié)）、還有Happy birthday（生日快樂）等單詞，爺爺竟然又全部學(xué)會了，我不得不從心里佩服爺爺，佩服爺爺那種好學(xué)的精神。
